In February, Groupama Assicurazioni, a partner of LUISS ENLABS and the first overseas branch of the insurance and banking firm Groupama, has launched an innovation program called Think4South. The deadline of the call for applications will be on the 15th of May. The winners will be awarded with 15k Euros and the most innovative project will have a chance to join LUISS ENLABS' Acceleration Program. “We are proud of the results that this initiative has so far achieved. Within two months, Think4South has had 45.000 visits on its website, 600 applications and over 100 projects”, claims Giorgia Freddi, Director of Communication and External Relations at Groupama Assicurazioni. “With this contest, we want to emphasize our attention toward Southern Italy”, she continues. Think4South will award and support projects capable of offering innovative tech solutions for risk prevention. The ultimate goal of the initiative is responding to social, economic and technological challenges of the 21st century in order to enable the area of Southern Italy to become more resilient and capable of turning sources of tension into valuable opportunities. The call is open to startups and young people based in Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily. Applying is simple, all you need to do is filling in the form on the website and attach a presentation of the project. Projects should belong to one of the following categories: Climate Change, Health Risks, Valorisation of the Territory, Mobility and Security. Applications will be evaluated and selected by a commission which will include Groupama Assicurazioni's Top Management, representatives of LUISS ENLABS and some of Swiss Re's and STMicroelectronics' experts. Among the candidates, 8 finalists will be invited to pitch their innovative idea on the 26th of May at Groupama's headquarters. During a following event, up to 4 winners will be awarded with 15k Euros to develop their project. The team who presents the most innovative project will also be considered as a candidate to work in our premises in Rome for five months by joining LUISS ENLABS' Acceleration Program, for which applications are currently open.
