On July 9th the awarding ceremony of the Start Tel Aviv Competition took place in Milan, at EXPO 2015, inside Israel's pavilion. The 3 finalist startups pitched a jury of investors, journalists and innovation experts. Before attending the event we had the chance to visit some of the pavilions together with other investors.
The event has been moderated by Marcello Giordani, Analyst of LVenture Group. After a brief introduction, Naor Gilon, Ambassador of Israel in Italy, welcomed the audience and explained the main goal of the competition: to bring together technology startups from 21 different countries around the world to compete for the opportunity to take part in an intense, five-day startup experience in Tel Aviv's unrivaled startup ecosystem. The 3 Italian startups selected for the final at EXPO were: Quattrocento Eyewear, Intact Healthcare and Kopjra. After a pitching session, the jury decided to award with the first prize Intact Healthcare, a startup that invented dbGLOVE a wearable device for enabling people with visual or multisensory impairments to interact with others thanks to an interactive glove that connects with smartphones and appliances.
