Hi Federico, tell us about yourself.

What can I say… I’m just a guy 26 years old with a great passion for entrepreneurship, innovation, technology and wine.

How and when was born the idea of wineOwine?

It’s a funny story but it was born one year and half ago. I just came back from a trip in the North of Italy and I bought a bottle of wine along the way from a small winery on the street. I arrived home and I organized a dinner with Eros Durante (then co-founder of wineOwine). We were drinking the wine and we got a bit tipsy. We were discussing how good the wine was and Eros asked me: “where can we find another bottle?” I said: “probably we can’t, because the winery is small and I think it distributes its products just around the production area”. We are both wine lovers and in that moment we had a need, a need that the market couldn’t satisfy. We looked at our face and in that moment the idea was born.

What’s the reason why an investor should bet in wineOwine?

Because we are bringing a revolution in a traditional sector. The wine industry is worth 100 billion just in Europe. The market is incredibly huge. We are pretty different from our competitors because we really work on the products and we do bring the niche to the mass market. Furthermore, we have an extremely deep knowledge of the wine market that allows us to understand what customers want and need on a national and international level. Last but not least, we have an extensive knowledge of e-commerce and personal relationships with thousands of wine producers.

In a startup, what is more important the team or the idea?

I say absolutely the team. The team is everything and usually what counts more is not the idea, or just the idea, but the way you do things. Execution is the key factor to succeeding.

Beer or wine?

I say both, it depends of the food pairings and from the moments you have to drink. Of course, when we are talking about beers I assume we are dealing with artisan ones.

Your favourite wine? Which track could be associated with it?

As I real wine lover I don’t have a favourite wine. I love to experience always new wines, new grapes and new production areas. I really have never enough to drink something new.

How do you spend your time off?

I play guitar, I do lot of sport, I travel and I go out with friends. I really love to have party and when I have some free time I just try not to think about work.
